Membership Growth
We have enrolled 3 new SLM since last SWC (Golaghat 1, Nazira Simaluguri 1 & Tezpur 1).
And sent enrollment request for 97 new members (20 CLM & 57 SLM) during membership campaign.

Meetings / Conference

• Dr Dwipayan Deb representing IMA Cachar Branch for the IMA Students Wing Meet for the 1st National Convention of Junior Doctors in New Delhi on 15th September 2019.


• Dr Satyajit Borah, Dr H Adhikary, Dr G S Gogoi & Dr Rajumani Sarma attended 222^nd meeting of IMA CWC held at Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar Islands on 1^st & 2^nd Nov 2019.


• Dr Mohan Gupta, Hon. Secretary IMA AMS Hq chaired the IMA AMS East Zone session at the Star North East Endogyn conclave 2019, Guwahati on 16^th November 2019. Dr Hemanga Baishya HSS and along with other members attended the session.

22/09/2019 −  Program on ORGAN DONATION AWARENESS was organized by WDW IMA ASB in ESI HOSPITAL Beltola. Dr Manjima Baishya Ganguly spoke on the necessity of organ donation. Dr Bijuli Goswami spoke on Eye Donation.

19/10/2019 −  CME on prevention and early detection of cancer in women and Dry Eye Disease was held at IMA House, Ambari Guwahati by IMA WDW as part of Breast cancer awareness month.

02/11/2019 −  Diabetic retinopathy detection camp was held by IMA Nagaon branch.

11/11/2019 −  On the occasion of the National Education Day an anaemia detection camp and awareness programme was organised by Mission Pink Health IMA Assam and IMA Dispur Branch in association with WDW IMA Assam at Kaliram Baruah Girls high school Bharalumukh Guwahati.

World Diabetes Day and WD Month from 14^th Nov'19 to 14^th Dec'19
14/11/2019 −  WDD was organized by IMA Bongaigaon, Tezpur, Nagaon with Walkathon & Diabetes awareness camp.

Branch Activity Reporting −  thank Honorary Secretaries of Kokrajhar, Tezpur and Bijini Branch for sending quarterly activity report for 3^rd Quarter 2019 (July − September 2019).

CME activities by Local Branches −  Tezpur & Nagaon branches conducted CME's.

Other Activities

• Following letter received from IMA ASB dated 22/10/2019; the office of the CM, Govt. of Assam has directed LR cum Commissioner & Secretary, Judicial Department for taking appropriate action as per rules in the trial of Dr. Deben Dutta killing case.


• Indian Medical Association has decided to challenge the verdict of AHRC against Dr. Ghanashyam Thakuria. IMA has approved Senior Advocate Kamal Nayan Choudhury to challenge the verdict in the Hon'ble High Court of Guwahati with input and support from IMA National Professional Protection Scheme.


• Certificate of Registration of Societies of IMA ASB has been renewed and validity extended up to 14/10/2022.

Upcoming events

• IMA Hospital Board of India, Assam State Branch Convention is on 8^th December 2019, 3pm onwards at Hotel Landmark, Guwahati.


• Suno Bharat − Awareness campaign on NMC (No to Quackery, No to CrossPathy) is on 9^th December 2019, 9am at GMCH, Guwahati.


• NATCON 2019 − The 94^th National Annual Conference of IMA, is on 27^th & 28^th December, 2019, at Biswa Bangla Convention Centre, Kolkata


• North East IMA Conclave 2020 is on 22^nd February 2019 at Kohima, Nagaland.


• IMA ASB Credit Point CME & State Council Meeting is at Tezpur.
